Monday MLB Opening Odds
(The Spread) – The Rays, Brewers and Braves all look to stay hot on Monday when new series start this week in baseball.
The Brewers start a double-header in Pittsburgh today and will look to extend their current three-game winning streak. The Brewers have opened as –115 money line favorites in Game 1 and –185 favorites in Game 2. They’re 42-10 in their last 52 games against the Pirates, while Pittsburgh is just 1-6 in Jeff Karsten’s last seven starts versus Milwaukee.
Staying in the National League, the Braves will visit the Cubs at 8:05PM ET when Jair Jurrjens takes the hill against Ryan Dempster. The over is 5-0 in the last five meetings between these two teams, while the Braves are 4-1 in their last five road games versus Chicago.
Switching leagues, the Rays will put their five-game winning streak on the line against the Tigers, who are 7-3 in their last 10 games. Visiting Detroit is a –140 money line favorite versus Tampa Bay, who is +130 on the ML. According to latest MLB trends, the Tigers are 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams and 8-1 in Justin Verlander’s last nine starts versus the Rays.
Also in the AL, the Red Sox are +125 on the money line versus the Rangers, who are –135 on the ML with C.J. Wilson on the hill. The Rangers are 4-0 in Wilson’s last four starts against the Red Sox, who are 0-4 in their last four road games versus Texas.
