Sunday MLB Opening Odds
(The Spread) – There is plenty of intriguing Major League Baseball action all around Sunday, including in Los Angeles where the Dodgers play host to the Florida Marlins.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog.com have made the host Dodgers a -135 favorite in the matchup, while the Marlins are a +115 underdog. The over-under is set at 6.5 runs. Game time is 4:15PM EST.
Los Angeles will send ace left-hander Clayton Kershaw to the mound and he is 5-3 on the season with a 2.96 ERA. Countering him will be Florida’s Ricky Nolasco, who has a 4-0 record and a 3.04 ERA. According to the latest trends, Kershaw is 1-1 with a 3.44 ERA in three career starts against the Marlins. Nolasco has an 0-1 record and a 5.40 ERA in three career starts versus the Dodgers.
The two squads have split the first two games in the series as Los Angeles won the opener 3-2, while Florida won Saturday night by a 6-1 final.
In other National League action, the New York Mets host the Philadelphia Phillies at 1:15PM EST. The Phillies are -114 favorites, while the over-under is set at 7.5. On ESPN Sunday Night Baseball at 8:10PM EST, the Atlanta Braves will be hosting the Cincinnati Reds. Atlanta is a -139 favorite and the over-under is set at 7.5.
Over in the American League, the Tampa Bay Rays are home to conclude their series with the Cleveland Indians. The Rays are a -140 favorite with Jeremy Hellickson on the mound with an over-under of 7.5. The New York Yankees are at the Seattle Mariners for a 4:15PM EST start. The Yankees are -150 favorites and the over-under is listed at 7 runs.
