Saturday MLB Opening Odds
(The Spread) – There are 15 games on the MLB docket Saturday, so let’s take a look at the opening odds around baseball.
In Atlanta, the 28-24 Braves host the 27-25 Cincinnati Reds at 7:10PM EST. Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog.com have made the host Braves a -148 favorite, while the Reds are +138 on the moneyline. The over-under is listed at 7.5 runs.
Derek Lowe will be starting for Atlanta in the contest and he is 3-4 with a 3.53 earned-run average on the season. On the other side, Bronson Arroyo will bring a 3-5 record and a 5.28 ERA into action for Cincinnati. According to the latest MLB trends, Arroyo is 6-3 with a 5.29 ERA in 13 appearances (12 starts) in his career versus the Braves. Lowe is 4-2 with a 3.00 ERA in six appearances (five starts) against the Reds.
Cincinnati won the series opener by a 5-1 final Friday night.
Elsewhere in the National League, the Milwaukee Brewers host the San Francisco Giants at 4:15PM EST. The Brewers are -134 favorites and the over-under is 7.5. Colorado is home to face St. Louis at 7:15PM EST. The Cardinals are -126 favorites, while the over-under is set at 8.5 runs.
Over in the American League, the Tampa Bay Rays play the Cleveland Indians inside Tropicana Field at 4:15PM EST. The Rays are -178 favorites with an over-under of 7.5 runs. The Detroit Tigers entertain the red-hot Boston Red Sox at 7:15PM EST. Boston is a -142 favorite and the over-under is 9.
In Seattle, the Mariners host the New York Yankees at 10:15PM EST. The Mariners, with 2010 Cy Young Award winner Felix Hernandez on the mound, are -132 favorites. The over-under is 7.
