Soto stays hot in win
Juan Soto moved his batting average to .301 on the season and his on-base percentage to .416 as the rookie went 3-for-4 with a double, a run and two RBIs in a come-from-behind 5-4 win over the visiting Brewers. Trea Turner was 2-for-4 with a stolen base, a run and an RBI. Wilmer Difo finished 1-for-3 with an RBI. Greg Holland picked up the win in relief as he walked one and retired one batter. Justin Miller recorded his second save of the season by giving up one earned run on two hits with one strikeout in one inning.
Soria hit hard in relief
Milwaukee reliever Joakim Soria suffered the loss Saturday as he surrendered four earned runs on two hits with one strikeout and two walks during a disastrous eighth inning. He pitched two-thirds of an inning. Jonathan Schoop went 2-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI. Manny Pina finished 2-for-4 with a solo home run, while Tyler Saladino contributed a pinch-hit solo home run.
Junior Guerra (6-9, 4.09 ERA) will start today for the Brewers, while the Nats are going with rookie Jefry Rodriguez (2-1, 4.54).
MLB Betting Trends
Milwaukee
The over is 10-1 in the last 11 Brewers games on Sundays. Milwaukee is 3-10 in its last 13 Sunday games.
Washington
The over is 7-2-1 in the last 10 Washington games on Sundays. The under is 6-2-1 n the last nine meetings.
Prediction:
Guerra has been very hittable lately and faces a Nationals lineup with hitters from the left side capable of torching him like Adam Eaton, Bryce Harper and Soto. Rodriguez is raw, but he’s showing improvement and Milwaukee has yet to see him. On a getaway day for the Brewers, I think they throw up a dud after yesterday’s implosion and drop today’s finale.
