Brewers’ Miley set to return to the mound Thursday night
Wade Miley (oblique) is expected to rejoin the Brewers’ rotation this week He appears to be lined up for Thursday’s start in Pittsburgh. Miley hasn’t given up a run over his last two rehab outings, although he hasn’t gone beyond 4 1/3 innings in either start. He’ll be tough to trust for fantasy purposes.
Pirates’ Taillon trips up late in loss to Phillies
Jameson Taillon allowed three runs on five hits over 6 2/3 innings in Saturday’s loss to the Phillies. Taillon was cradling a 2-0 lead when he trotted out to the mound for the seventh inning, but that slight advantage would not hold. In the frame, Nick Williams and Scott Kingery knocked him for an RBI triple and an RBI single, respectively, to tie up the game. The third run on his line scored inherited courtesy of the bullpen after Taillon had been relieved of duty with two outs in the inning. He struck out six without walking a batter in the contest. The 26-year-old right-hander will bring a 4.05 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 93/28 K/BB ratio (100 innings) into a home showdown with the Brewers in his next scheduled outing.
