Brewers hit the road
Milwaukee is coming off a 6-game homestand in which it went 3-3 against the Reds and Cubs. The Brewers are 56-51 on the season, 23-27 on the road and 54-49 with the under. Milwaukee has Adrian Houser on the mound today. He is 4-4 on the season with a 4.19 ERA.
Milwaukee is right in the middle when it comes to hitting, averaging 4.88 runs per game while batting .248 as a team. On the mound, the Brewers have just a 4.68 team ERA with a 1.36 team WHIP. Christian Yelich is the clear leader of the team. He has 21 doubles, 36 home runs and 80 RBI while Mike Moustakas is adding 22 doubles, 26 home runs and 60 RBI.
Athletics trying to get on track
Oakland had been in a bit of a funk, losing five of six games, but they were able to win back-to-back games at home over Texas to close the weekend. The Athletics are now 60-47 on the season, 33-22 at home and 56-51 with the under. Oakland has Chris Bassitt taking the mound today. He is 7-5 on the year with a 4.09 ERA.
The Athletics have a top-10 pitching staff this year, as they have a 4.12 team ERA with a 1.28 team WHIP. All of that comes despite being near the bottom of the league in strikeouts with just 826. At the plate, Oakland is putting up 5.08 runs per game while batting .246 as a team. Matt Chapman is leading the team with 27 doubles, 23 home runs and 61 RBI. Ramon Laureano is adding 26 doubles, 21 home runs and 58 RBI.
MLB Betting Trends
Milwaukee
The Brewers are 3-7 in their last 10 interleague games and 2-8 in their last 10 against AL West opponents.
Oakland
The Athletics are 8-2 in their last 10 home games and 4-1 in their last five interleague games.
Prediction:
Houser isn’t a regular starter, as most of his appearances have been in relief this year. He has struggled more on the road, posting a 4.85 ERA in 12 appearances. Bassitt has had some shaky outings as of late, but he is solid at home this year. He has a 3.51 ERA through seven starts. The Athletics have been pretty steady at home this year and the Brewers haven’t been the same team on the road. I think Oakland will be able to get the job done tonight.
MLB Prediction: Oakland Athletics -125
