Brewers struggling with consistency
The Brewers are struggling with getting on track right now. They have alternated wins and losses over their last six games, coming off a 6-2 loss to the Indians at home on Wednesday. The Brewers are 21-16 overall and 11-7 on the road. Milwaukee is averaging just 3.70 runs per game this season while allowing 3.78 per contest.
Jhoulys Chacin is taking the mound for the Brewers on Thursday night. He is 2-1 on the season through eight starts. Chacin is sporting a 4.08 ERA with a 1.49 WHIP. He has pitched 39.2 innings this year and has 24 strikeouts with 19 walks.
Rockies’ win streak ends
The Rockies had their six-game win streak ended on Wednesday in an 8-0 loss to the Angels at home. Colorado is now 21-16 overall and 6-8 at home. The Rockies are scoring 3.95 runs per game on offense while allowing 4.38 per contest.
German Marquez gets the start for the Rockies tonight. He has started seven games this season and has a 4.76 ERA with a 1.47 WHIP. Marquez has pitched 34 innings this season and has 35 strikeouts with 16 walks.
MLB Betting Trends
Milwaukee
The Brewers have won their last five against NL West opponents and 14 of their last 20 games following a loss. They also have won Chacin’s last four starts.
Colorado
The Rockies are 1-4 in Marquez’ last five home starts and 1-5 in his last 6 starts with five days of rest. They also are 4-10 in their last 14 home games against a winning team.
Prediction:
The pitching matchup is pretty similar here, but I have more trust in the Milwaukee pitching altogether. Surprisingly Colorado has struggled at home this year and I don’t think Marquez is going to have a good start. Milwaukee has been able to bounce back from losses and I expect them to do it tonight.
The Pick: Milwaukee Brewers +130
