Miami Marlins DFS Spin
X-rays on Starling Marte’s left hand revealed a non-displaced fracture of the fifth metacarpal. Marte suffered the break when he was hit by a Dan Winkler pitch in the ninth inning of Wednesday’s game against the Cubs. For what it’s worth, Jeff Passan of ESPN hears that “there is optimism” Marte could play through the injury. If Marte does need to miss time, Lewis Brinson would figure to take over as the team’s center fielder moving forward.
Chicago Cubs DFS Spin
Ian Happ went 2-for-4 and homered for the Cubs’ lone run Wednesday against the Marlins. Happ struggled during the final three weeks of the season and dealt with an ankle injury last week, so the homer, his first since Sept. 5, was nice to see. Of course, he’s going to need more help from his teammates if the Cubs season is going to last beyond Thursday’s game.
Astros vs. Twins Betting Prediction
The Marlins are now 4-0 in their last four playoff games when listed as an underdog and have won four straight postseason games following their upset win on Wednesday. Miami has won four of its last five games and is 5-1 in its last six games when its opponent scores two runs or less in its previous game, as Chicago did in Game 1. The Cubs, meanwhile, are just 1-6 in their last seven postseason games, are 1-5 in their last six home postseason matchups and have dropped 17 of their last 22 games when their opponent allows just two runs or less in its previous game, as the Marlins did yesterday.
