Royals seek sweep
The Royals have taken the first two games in this series, winning 4-2 on Tuesday and 10-5 on Wednesday night. Kansas City is now 34-73 overall and 19-36 on the road. The Royals are putting up 3.66 runs per game on offense this season while allowing 5.49 per contest.
Brad Keller gets the start for the Royals this afternoon. He has started 10 games this year and has appeared in 31. Keller carries a 4-4 record with a 3.43 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP. He has amassed 45 strikeouts and 32 walks over 76.0 innings this year.
White Sox drop third straight
Following Wednesday’s loss, the White Sox have dropped three straight and six of their last seven. Chicago is now 37-70 overall and 20-33 at home. The White Sox are putting up 4.08 runs per game this season while allowing 5.42 per contest.
Reynaldo Lopez gets the start for the White Sox today. Lopez has started 21 games this year and has a 4-9 record with a 4.57 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP. Lopez has pitched a total of 122.0 innings this year and he has 86 strikeouts with 55 walks.
MLB Betting Trends
Kansas City
The Royals have lost four of Keller’s last five road starts and 11 of their last 14 Thursday games.
Chicago
The White Sox have lost six straight Thursday games and six of Lopez’ last seven starts against division opponents.
Prediction:
The Royals have managed a few wins this week and now look for a rare sweep today. The White Sox pitching has been pretty disappointing, given they have allowed 14 runs to one of the worst offenses in the league. I don’t see why that needs to change given Lopez has not been very good on the mound and walks a lot of batters. Keller walks a lot of batters too, but manages to limit the damage.
The Pick: Kansas City Royals +110
