Indians sign Nick Swisher
NEW YORK (AP) – A person familiar with the negotiations says Nick Swisher has agreed to a $56 million, four-year contract with the Cleveland Indians.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity Sunday because the agreement had not been announced.
The 32-year-old Swisher spent the last four seasons with the New York Yankees and took advantage of the short porch at Yankee Stadium. A switch-hitter who plays outfield and first base, he hit .272 this year with 24 homers and 93 RBIs.
His agreement was first reported by the New York Daily News.
