Cleveland’s offensive futility at the catcher position has been the subject of much attention over the last few weeks, so this one had to feel good for Gallagher. Cedric Mullins will undergo further testing after being removed from Monday’s game against the Guardians with a right groin strain. Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters afterwards that Mullins will undergo some additional testing to determine the severity of the strain before the club makes any decision. However, it certainly seems like he’s going to require a trip to the injured list. He suffered the injury attempting to beat out an infield single in the eighth inning of Monday’s series opener. It’s a tough loss for the Orioles and fantasy managers if he’s facing an extended absence.
