Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he’s considering starting Austin Barnes at catcher in Game 3 of the World Series on Friday against the Rays. Barnes drew the start at catcher in the Dodgers’ World Series Game 1 victory on Tuesday, though he did finish 0-for-4 with two strikeouts at the plate. If he does catch Walker Buehler in Game 3 on Friday, that would make Will Smith the designated hitter. A.J. Pollock served as the DH in Wednesday night’s Game 2 loss.
Tampa Bay Rays DFS Spin
Brandon Lowe broke out of his slump with a pair of home runs as the Rays downed the Dodgers in Game 2 of the World Series on Wednesday. Lowe entered this one hitting just .107 (6-for-56) so far this postseason, but he ripped a long opposite-field blast off of Tony Gonsolin as the second batter of the game to open the scoring. He wasn’t done there, belting another one to left off of Dustin May in the fifth inning which hit off the top of the wall and went into the seats for a two-run shot. The Rays’ offense as a whole has been struggling, so getting Lowe going would obviously be huge for their chances this series.
