Swanson is dealing with some right wrist swelling following Tuesday’s win over the Pirates in which he went 0-for-3 and was also hit by a pitch. Josh Palacios went 0-for-4 as the Pirates’ leadoff man against the Cubs on Tuesday. Palacios usually hits lower in the order — he moved up with Bryan Reynolds and Andrew McCutchen banged up — but he has been playing regularly versus righties of late. One imagines that will begin to change now, assuming that Reynolds avoids the IL. With Henry Davis up to play right field and DH, that’s one less lineup spot for Palacios and Connor Joe.
