Rockies’ Anderson shaky in loss to Angels
Tyler Anderson let up six hits and four runs over five innings Wednesday in the Rockies’ loss to the Angels. He fanned three and walked one over 80 pitches. Anderson had trouble keeping the ball in the yard, allowing a pair of home runs to Zack Cozart and Justin Upton within a three-batter span in the third inning.
If Anderson was hoping for run support on Wednesday, he didn’t get any as the Rockies’ bat fell silent against Halos right-hander Jaime Barria (5 1/3 IP, 5 H, 0 R). Wednesday’s defeat snapped an eight-game unbeaten streak for Anderson, who will take a 2-1 record into his next outing Monday at San Diego
Padres’ Lucchesi strikes out six in no-decision vs. Nationals
Joey Lucchesi allowed just one earned run, six hits and one walk with six strikeouts over five innings in a no-decision against the Nationals on Wednesday. Lucchesi threw 45 of his 69 pitches for strikes before turning the ball over to Craig Stammen. The reliever picked up his first win of the season in relief, holding his former team scoreless over two innings while lowering his ERA to 2.25.
The rookie Lucchesi has posted a solid 46 strikeouts over just 42 1/3 innings to please his fantasy owners. His next scheduled start is set for Monday against the Rockies to kick off a two-start week.

San Diego
The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams and is 4-1 in Anderson’s last five starts versus the Padres.

The Rockies have been a solid bet when Anderson takes the hill, willing four in a row on the road, four of his last five overall, and four of his last five starts versus a team with a losing record. Meanwhile, the Padres are winless in the first five games of a new series, are 2-7 in their last nine games coming off a win, and are 8-17 in their last 25 games versus a team with a winning record.
The Pick: Colorado Rockies -103
