Colorado scores six in 7th to win
The Rockies trailed 8-5 in the seventh inning at Arizona last night, but scored six in that frame and held off a late rally by the hosts to win 11-10. Charlie Blackmon finished 2-for-5 plus a walk with three runs scored, while Nolan Arenado was 3-for-5 with two home runs, Trevor Story went 1-for-3 and walked twice. Carlos Gonzalez was 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Gerardo Parra walked in both of his plate appearances and scored a run. German Marquez helped his own cause by going 2-for-2 with an RBI. Raimel Tapia added a pinch-hit grand slam in the bit seventh inning. Scott Oberg picked up in the win in relief, while Adam Ottavino worked around trouble to earn his third save.
Pollock has perfect night
A.J. Pollock did not record an out in last night’s loss for Arizona as he went 5-for-5 with a double, three runs and an RBI. Jake Lamb finished 1-for-4 with a walk, two runs and an RBI. Ketel Marte was 3-for-5 with a triple and four RBIs. Archie Bradley suffered the loss as he was torched for six earned runs on three hits with two strikeouts and three walks in only two-thirds of an inning.
Kyle Freeland (8-6, 3.11 ERA) will start today for the Rockies, while Zack Godley (11-6, 4.61) gets the call for the Diamondbacks.
MLB Betting Trends
Colorado
The Rockies are 14-3 in their last 17 games overall. Colorado is 6-2 in its last eight road games.
Arizona
The Diamondbacks are 3-10 in their last 13 home games. Arizona is 14-6 in the last 20 meetings.
Prediction:
Colorado hasn’t done well in the season series, but recorded a big win last night and continued its strong play from before the All-Star break. But tonight I think it swings the other way as Godley has really found his form as of late and Arizona is going to be hungry for a win so the Dodgers don’t start pulling away in the division.
