White Sox drop sixth straight
The White Sox suffered their sixth straight loss on Tuesday in a 6-3 loss at Cleveland. Chicago is now 24-48 overall and 12-24 on the road. The Sox are putting up 3.76 runs per game this season while allowing 5.01 per contest.
Reynaldo Lopez takes the field for the White Sox on Wednesday afternoon. He is 2-4 through 14 starts with a 3.25 ERA and 1.24 WHIP. Lopez has pitched a total of 83.1 innings this year and has 57 strikeouts with 34 walks.
Indians pitching leads the way
Cleveland earned a 6-3 win on Tuesday for its third straight win. They have allowed six just total runs over the three victories. The Tribe are now 39-33 overall with a 23-13 home record. The Indians are putting up 4.79 runs per game on offense while allowing 4.34 per contest.
Corey Kluber will start for the Indians this afternoon. Kluber has started 15 games this season and has a 10-3 record with a 2.24 ERA and 0.84 WHIP. Kluber has pitched a total of 104.2 innings and has 106 strikeouts with just 11 walks.
MLB Betting Trends
Chicago
The White Sox are just 9-22 in their last 31 Wednesday games and 5-17 in their last 22 games against AL Central opponents.
Cleveland
Cleveland has won 42 of its last 59 games at home and they are also 23-5 in Kluber’s last 28 starts against a losing team.
Prediction:
Kluber struggled in his last start, allowing four runs in just six innings. While he is a stud on the mound, the oddsmakers are really stacking them for Cleveland. We saw Kluber isn’t perfect in his last outing and he is opposing a decent Chicago pitcher in Lopez. Lopez hasn’t gotten much in terms of run support this year. That could be an issue today, but I think his ability gives Chicago an actual shot. I will take my chances on the White Sox to pull off the upset.
The Pick: Chicago White Sox +250
