Cubs bat around in 11th
After tying the game at 2-2 in the top of the eighth inning, Chicago took the lead in the 11th on a solo home run by Anthony Rizzo and then proceeded to score four more times en route to a 7-2 win at the Brewers. It was Rizzo’s only hit in four at-bats, while he also drew a walk. Albert Almora Jr. finished 3-for-6 with a run and two RBIs. Jason Heyward was also 3-for-6 with a double and three RBIs, including the tying RBI in the eighth. Javier Baez went 2-for-4 with a walk and scored two runs. Ben Zobrist was 1-for-2 off the bench with a walk and scored twice. Randy Rosario threw two spotless innings of relief with a strikeout to earn the win.
Kratz, Villar homer in loss
The two runs by the Brewers on Monday came via solo home runs from catcher Erik Kratz and second baseman Jonathan Villar. It was the only hit of the night for both players. Kratz gave Milwaukee a 1-0 lead in the third inning with his long ball, while Villar put the hosts back ahead at 2-1. Lorenzo Cain went 2-for-4, while Hernan Perez finished 2-for-4 with a double. Matt Albers took the loss in relief as he surrendered all five runs in the 11th on three hits with one walk in two-thirds of an inning.
Tyler Chatwood (3-4, 3.86 ERA) will start today for the Cubs, while the Brewers will turn to Chase Anderson (4-5, 4.57).

Last night’s loss had to be a bit demoralizing for Milwaukee, but today is a new day and the Brewers will face a pitcher who hasn’t been great over the last month-plus in Chatwood. While Anderson has had a rocky year, he’s been solid in his two previous starts against the Cubs. I’m going to go with the hosts to bounce back tonight and take a half-game lead over Chicago once again.
