The pitching matchup for today’s game has Dylan Bundy (8-8, 4.33 ERA) on the mound for the Orioles to face Tyson Ross (2-1, 5.33) of the Rangers. Ross has started five games this season. He has allowed 15 earned runs over 25.1 innings. Ross has 13 walks and 18 strikeouts with a 1.26 WHIP. Bundy has struggled as of late, allowing at least three runs in six straight starts. Bundy has 84 strikeouts with 35 walks this season and a 1.25 WHIP.
These two opened their series on Monday, with Baltimore picking up a 3-1 win. The Orioles are now 43-49 on the season and 26-19 at home. Texas is 45-47 overall and 20-27 on the road.
Monday’s game saw Chris Tillman have his first great start in some time. He allowed just one run over six innings and the bullpen pitched three scoreless innings. Andrew Cashner allowed three runs over 6.2 innings of work to fall to 4-8 on the season. The Orioles were led at the plate by Manny Machado, who had three hits. Seth Smith hit a solo home run in the win as well.
Monday could have sparked something for the Orioles. They finally got a good outing from Tillman and that could carry over today for Bundy. The Baltimore hitters get a chance to face a struggling pitcher in Ross, so look for the Orioles to get plenty of runs today. Bundy should be able to keep Texas in check and do enough to get the victory tonight.
