Kirk figures to see an uptick in playing time over the next few days with Danny Jansen dealing with a groin injury that could potentially require a trip to the injured list. The three-hit effort raises his batting average to a more respectable .248 over 39 games this season. He still only has two homers and 12 RBI during that span, which isn’t ideal for fantasy managers expecting a bit more offensive production.

Edouard Julien had a solo homer, a sac fly, a walk and two runs scored Wednesday versus the Giants. It’s Julien’s first homer in 12 at-bats since his recall and third in 39 at-bats on the second. On Monday, the Twins started Julien, only to pull him before his first at-bat when the Giants replaced their right-handed opener with a lefty. Obviously, he’s only trusted as a platoon guy right now, and he’ll probably go back to the minors after Jorge Polanco returns. The 24-year-old has a potent bat, though.
