Orioles end skid
The Orioles are coming off a 9-6 win at Texas on Sunday, which snapped a three-game losing streak. Baltimore is now 34-78 overall and 14-43 on the road. Baltimore is putting up just 3.91 runs per game this season while allowing 5.32 per contest.
Alex Cobb gets the start for the Orioles this evening. He is making his 21st start of the year and comes into tonight with a 3-14 record with a 5.83 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP. Cobb has pitched a total of 109.2 innings this year and he has 75 strikeouts with 29 walks.
Rays swept at home
The Rays are coming off being swept at home in three games against the White Sox. Tampa is now 56-56 overall and 32-23 at home. The Rays are putting up 4.21 runs per contest this year while allowing 4.19 per contest.
Tyler Glasgow gets the start for the Rays this evening. He has started just one game this year, but has appeared in 35. Glasgow has a 1-2 record with four holds. He also carries a 4.27 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP. Glasgow has 77 strikeouts and 35 walks over 59.0 innings of work.
MLB Betting Trends
Baltimore
The Orioles have lost five of Cashner’s last six road starts and 14 of his last 19 starts overall. They are also just 7-20 in their last 27 Tuesday games.
Tampa
The Rays have won 20 of their last 27 at home and six of their last seven Tuesday games. However, they are just 2-7 in their last nine after a day off.
Prediction:
The Rays looked poor against the White Sox, but I think they manage to get on track against the Orioles. With Machado gone, it’s hard to see Baltimore winning much more. They were one of the worst teams with him and could be the worst without him. Cobb has struggled against his old team, posting an ERA over 6.00 in three starts. Look for Tampa to hammer him again tonight.
The Pick: Tampa Bay Rays -165
