Houston Astros DFS SPIN
Jose Altuve homered in the first, second and third innings Tuesday the Astros crushed the Rangers 14-1. Altuve became just the third player in major league history to homer in the first three innings of a game, giving him five homers in two days, but he couldn’t convert on a rare four-homer night. Even so, it was still a stellar game from the second baseman, who has upped his season home run total from 10 to 15 in a bit more than 24 hours. His current .969 OPS will be a career high if he can keep it up.

Dane Dunning was tagged for nine runs in 5 1/3 innings of relief work Tuesday against the Astros. Dunning deserved better than this after going 7-6 with a 3.74 ERA in 21 starts since the beginning of May. His ERA, though, wasn’t of much concern to a Rangers organization that is due to face him in arbitration for the first time this winter. They might actually save some money in 2024 as a result. Dunning should get a start next time through the rotation; he’s definitely more deserving than Andrew Heaney at this point.
