Miami enters with a 67-73 record and is 31-38 on the road, while Atlanta is 62-77 and 31-38 at home. The Braves have won seven of the last 10 meetings with the over-under going 3-6-1.
Atlanta won Thursday’s series opener by a score of 6-5 as Kurt Suzuki had an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning to cap a rally. It was Suzuki’s second hit of the game. Ender Inciarte finished 2-for-4 with a run, while Ozzie Albies had a double and two RBIs. Dansby Swanson was 2-for-4 with a run. Jace Peterson went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Matt Kemp contributed a solo home run. Rex Brothers picked up the win in relief. Dee Gordon went 2-for-5 with a triple and a run for the Marlins. Marcel Ozuna was 2-for-5 with a triple, a run and two RBIs. Brian Anderson was 2-for-3 with a walk, a run and an RBI. Brad Ziegler suffered the loss in relief.
Miami has lost 10 of its last 11 including five in a row to go into a deep tailspin away from the NL Wild Card chase. Eventually things will have to turn around and we like their chances tonight. The lineup should be able to get to Foltynewicz and Miami has the more consistent starting pitcher. Go with the visitors to even the series.
