Mike Moustakas went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer on Wednesday to lead the Angels to a 4-1 win against the Giants. Moustakas doubled in the first inning, but was left stranded on the bases. He’d give the Angels the lead in the sixth with a go-ahead three-run homer off Tristan Beck. After back-to-back multi-hit games, the 34-year-old ends the day hitting .278/.337/.469 with 11 homers and 40 RBI across 273 plate appearances.

Jose Altuve homered as part of a four-hit day against the Orioles on Thursday. It could have been a two-homer day, but Altuve’s 397-foot fly to left in the ninth went as a double in Camden Yards when it would have been a homer everywhere else. Altuve went 0-for-3 in his first game back from the IL on July 26, but he’s since hit in 12 straight, going 21-for-50 with three homers and 14 runs scored. It’s pretty remarkable that he’s hit .301 in 186 games at ages 32 and 33 after coming in at .264 at ages 30 and 31 in 2020-21.
