2016 World Series Opening Odds
The Los Angeles Dodgers currently don’t have a manager but that hasn’t stopped oddsmakers from making them the favorites to win the 2016 World Series.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Dodgers have opened as 8/1 favorites to win the 2016 World Series, although they’re not a clear cut favorite. The Cubs, Mets, Blue Jays and Nationals are all 10/1, respectively, to win next year’s World Series, while the Pirates, Cardinals and Rangers are all 12/1.
What about the defending World Series champion Royals? They’re 14/1 to repeat as champions, while the Astros, the team Kansas City beat in the ALDS this year, is also 14/1. The Yankees are 16/1, the Red Sox are 18/1 and the Indians, Tigers, Angels and Giants are all 20/1.
Gabe Kapler is rumored to be the favorite to become the next manager of the Dodgers after the team parted ways with Don Mattingly a few weeks ago. The club also faces a potential dilemma if pitcher Zack Greinke opts out of the remaining three years of his contract. It figures to be a busy offseason in L.A.
