Rangers vs. Tigers Game 3 Odds
(The Spread) – The ALCS shifts to Detroit tonight when the Tigers host the Rangers at 8:05PM ET.
The Tigers are hoping a little home cooking is what they need after falling behind the Rangers 2-0 in the American League Championship Series. Texas won Game 1 on Saturday night and then took Game 2 on Monday in extra innings. Nelson Cruz hit a grand slam off Ryan Perry in the bottom of the 11th to give the Rangers a sweep of the first two games of this series.
Now the action shifts to Detroit on Tuesday where the Tigers are –136 money line favorites over the Rangers, who are +128 on the ML. Doug Fister will take on Colby Lewis in tonight’s pitching matchup, where the over/under total is currently sitting at 8.5 runs.
Lewis won his lone start in the playoffs, a 4-3 victory over the Rays in the ALDS when he threw six innings of one-hit ball. He allowed just one home run while striking out six while walking two batters. Fister, meanwhile, pitched two games in New York against the explosive New York offense and went 1-1. He allowed six runs on seven hits in just 4.2 innings of work in Game 1 of the ALDS but bounced back to win Game 5, which clinched the series for Detroit. Fister allowed one run on five hits while striking out four in 5.0 innings in that deciding game.
According to latest MLB trends, the under is 5-1-2 in the last eight meetings between these two teams in Detroit but the over is 4-1 in Lewis’ last five starts against the Tigers. The Rangers are also 5-17 in their last 22 road games against the Tigers and 1-5 in Lewis’ last six starts against the AL Central.
