Yankees vs. Indians Pick
Oddsmakers at sports book Bovada.lv have made the Indians a -200 favorite to win on the moneyline. The Yankees are a +170 underdog and the over-under is 7.5.
New York forced a Game 5 via a 7-3 home victory Monday night. Cleveland has won six of the last 10 meetings this season and the over-under is 5-4-1 in those games.
On the mound for the Yankees will be CC Sabathia (14-5, 3.69), while the Indians turn to ace Corey Kluber (18-4, 2.25). Sabathia had a 1.27 WHIP with 120 strikeouts over 148 2/3 innings during the regular season. He allowed four runs (two earned) on three hits with five strikeouts and three walks over 5 1/3 innings in a 9-8 loss at Cleveland in Game 1. Sabathia is 7-3 with a 3.18 ERA in 14 road starts this year. Kluber boasted a 0.87 WHIP with 265 strikeouts in 203 2/3 innings. He was shelled for six earned runs on seven hits with four strikeouts and one walk over 2 2/3 innings in the Game 1 win. Kluber is 10-2 with a 1.81 ERA in 16 home starts.
In the Game 4 victory, Luis Severino gave up three earned runs and struck out nine over seven innings to lead the way for the Yankees. Brett Gardner was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Aaron Judge was 1-for-5 with a two-run double. Gary Sanchez contributed a solo home run. Starlin Castro went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs. Todd Frazier was 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs and an RBI. Tommy Kahnle picked up the save. Carlos Santana was 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs, while Roberto Perez added a solo home run for Cleveland. Trevor Bauer allowed four earned runs in 1 2/3 innings to take the loss.
New York let Kluber off the hook when they knocked him around in Game 1 and still couldn't win the contest. Don't expect a repeat performance here. Kluber has been too dominant for the majority of the season to get hit hard again. Expect the Indians offense to figure out Sabathia again and survive what has been a formidable foe in the Yankees.
