Dodgers pound out 18 hits
The Los Angeles offense was in good form yesterday in a 10-6 victory at the Giants to pull even in the NL West race. Joc Pederson finished 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk. Chris Taylor went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI off the bench. Max Muncy was 2-for-6 with a double, a triple and two RBIs. Manny Machado ended the game 2-for-5 with a triple and an RBI. Yasiel Puig went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs. Yasmani Grandal was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and a run. Enrique Hernandez finished the game 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, two runs and an RBI. Clayton Kershaw helped his own cause by going 1-for-1 with two RBIs. Alex Wood picked up the win in relief as he struck out two in 1 1/3 innings.
Pence, Blanco notch two hits each
Hunter Pence went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI in yesterday's loss to the Dodgers. Joe Panik finished 1-for-3 with three RBIs. Brandon Crawford was 0-for-3, but walked once and scored two runs. Gregor Blanco was 2-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI. Mark Melancon suffered the loss in relief as he gave up one earned run on two hits in one inning of relief.
MLB Betting Trends
The Dodgers are 12-4 in their last 16 games overall. The under is 7-1-1 in the last nine meetings.
The under is 20-5-1 in the last 26 Giants home games. San Francisco is 6-21 in its last 27 games overall.
Hill should go five or six innings and then turn it over to the bullpen against a weak Giants offense. I just can't see the Dodgers falling short on the final day of the regular season. While it's been an inconsistent ride, talent should push LA across the finish line with a win as it also hopes for a Colorado Rockies loss in order to clinch the NL West title.
