Dodgers vs. Diamondbacks Prediction

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks 9/26/18, Prediction & Odds

A walk-off loss by the Los Angeles Dodgers at the Arizona Diamondbacks reduced their lead to a half-game in the NL West standings. Can Los Angeles bounce back with a victory tonight to keep a hold on first place?

Escobar hits game-winning homer

Eduardo Escobar broke a 3-3 tie with a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the ninth last night to send Arizona to a 4-3 home win over the Dodgers. Escobar finished 1-for-1 with the home run plus a walk off the bench. David Peralta was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and two RBIs off the bench. A.J. Pollock went 2-for-4 and scored a run. Chris Owings finished 1-for-3 with a double and a walk. Brad Boxberger recorded the win in relief as he gave up one earned run on two hits in an inning of work.

Bellinger homers in loss

Justin Turner finished 1-for-4 plus a walk in last night's loss at the Diamondbacks. Cody Bellinger ended the game 2-for-4 with a solo home run. Yasmani Grandal went a perfect 3-for-3 with a triple. Enrique Hernandez was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Kenta Maeda took the loss in relief as he gave up the home run to Escobar with the only batter he faced.

Ross Stripling (8-5, 2.84 ERA) will take the mound tonight for LA, while Arizona counters with Zack Greinke (14-11, 3.21).

MLB Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The Dodgers are 8-1 in their last nine games following a loss. Los Angeles is 10-3 in its last 13 games overall.

The D-backs are 2-8 in their last 10 home games. Arizona is 8-20 in its last 28 games overall.

Greinke will give the Diamondbacks a fighting chance here, but Los Angeles has a division title its playing for and is the team that is properly motivated. Arizona played a bit of spoiler last night, but I can't see it happening two nights in a row.
