Tigers vs. Rays MLB Prediction
The Rays will host the Tigers on Thursday at 7:10 p.m. ET looking to rebound from a poor series in Toronto. Will the over cash when the two teams open their series at Tropicana Field?
915 Detroit Tigers (+180) at 916 Tampa Bay Rays (-216); o/u 9
7:10 p.m. ET, Thursday, September 16, 2021
Tropicana Field, Tampa, FL
Detroit Tigers DFS Notes
Michael Fulmer struck out four while notching a two-inning save Wednesday versus the Brewers. Fulmer was dominant, picking up 10 whiffs on his 36 pitches. The velocity on his slider was way up, as he averaged an impressive 93.1 mph with the pitch and topped out at 95.2 mph. It's the ninth save of the season for Fulmer, which is exactly half as many as team leader Gregory Soto has. Soto was presumably unavailable Wednesday afternoon after throwing two innings Tuesday night.
Tampa Bay Rays DFS Notes
Mike Zunino popped his 30th home run in Wednesday's loss to the Blue Jays. Zunino's long ball to lead off the top of the fifth inning had an insane 45 degree launch angle, but it still managed to sneak out since he hit it 106.6 mph. He has three homers this season with at least a 45 degree launch angle. No other player has more than one. Hat tip to Céspedes Family BBQ for that little nugget.
