Matt Olson ended the game 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI. Stephen Piscotty was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Marcus Semien finished 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Yusmeiro Petit picked up the win in relief as he struck out one and walked one in 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief. Blake Treinen earned his 34th save as he struck out two in perfect inning of relief.

Seattle hits three homers in defeat

Robinson Cano hit a solo home run as he was 1-for-3 with a walk in Friday's loss. Nelson Cruz was 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored. Ryon Healy finished 2-for-4 with a 2-run homer. Mike Leake took the loss as he was torched for six earned runs on 11 hits over 4 1/3 innings, striking out three and walking two.

James Paxton (10-5, 3.68 ERA) will start today for the Mariners, while the Athletics turn to Daniel Mengden (6-6, 4.28).

MLB Betting Trends

The Mariners are 15-7 in their last 22 Saturday games. The under is 9-4 in the last 13 Seattle road games.

The under is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings. Oakland is 10-1 in its last 11 Saturday games.

Paxton has enjoyed a fine season and can dominate on any given night. The Athletics strike out a lot and can have their struggles against left-handed pitching. Mengden had a fantastic stretch early in the season, but has come back down to life. I like Seattle here as the small fave.
