Rays rally past M's

After blowing its lead by allowing three runs in the top of the ninth inning Wednesday afternoon at home versus Seattle, Tampa Bay scored two runs in the bottom half to prevail 7-6. Kevin Kiermaier tied the game up with a solo home run before Willy Adames later scored the winning run on a wild pitch. Kiermaier ended the contest 2-for-4 with the homer and four RBIs. Guillermo Heredia went 2-for-3 with a solo home run. Travis d'Arnaud was 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Emilio Pagan picked up the win in relief despite giving up three earned runs on three hits with on strikeout and no walks over one inning of work. Ryan Yarbrough draws the start tonight as he enters with an 11-3 record, 3.34 ERA and 0.88 WHIP with 88 strikeouts over 105 innings pitched.

O's win second straight

Baltimore rolled to an 8-1 home win Wednesday night over Kansas City to improve to 41-86 overall and 20-44 at home. Hanser Alberto helped pace the Orioles offensively as he finished 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Jonathan Villar was 2-for-3 with a homer, a walk and two RBIs. Renato Nunez ended the game 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and two runs scored. Stevie Wilkerson was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Aaron Brooks notched the win as he gave up one earned run on seven hits with four strikeouts and one walk over five innings of work. MLB Betting Trends

Tampa Bay

The Rays are 9-1 in their last 10 road games. Tampa Bay is 5-0 in the last five Yarbrough road starts.

Baltimore

The Orioles are 15-59 in their last 74 series openers. Baltimore is 5-21 in its last 26 Thursday games.

Prediction:

Yarbrough has been fantastic all season and while Wojchichowski has had his moments of excellence, he is still inconsistent and probably won't get much support from his offense. Tampa Bay hasn't made things easy lately, but perhaps the rally Wednesday pushed it back in the right direction. I'm going with the favorites in the opener here.
