Phillies vs. Padres MLB Prediction
Something has to give when the struggling Phillies visit the struggling Padres for a three-game series this weekend at Petco Park. Which side will win the opener on Friday night at 10:10 p.m. ET when Matt Moore opposes Blake Snell in the pitching matchup?
Game Snapshot
961 Philadelphia Phillies (+191) at 962 San Diego Padres (-211); o/u 9
10:10 p.m. ET, Friday, August 20, 2021
Petco Park, San Diego, CA
Philadelphia Phillies DFS Notes
Jean Segura doubled and drove in a run while going 1-for-5 on Thursday in a loss to the Phillies. Segura drove in his run with a fielder’s choice. The shortstop has been scuffling a bit in the late summer months, but still has a solid .299/.356/.440 slash while hitting at the top of the Philadelphia lineup.
San Diego Padres DFS Notes
Wil Myers hit a two-run shot and a solo blast Wednesday as the Padres fell to the Rockies. The Padres have alternated Tommy Pham and Myers in left field in the four games that Fernando Tatis Jr. has played right. After Pham did a long home run Tuesday, Myers belted a couple bombs the next day. Perhaps it will earn Myers a second straight start on Friday, but for now it’s a setup that’s obviously not ideal for either player.
Phillies vs. Padres MLB Betting Prediction
The over is 19-7 in the last 26 meetings between these two teams at Petco Park, is 14-5-1 in the Phillies’ last 20 road games and has cashed in six of their last seven games as a road underdog.
