Ryan Zimmerman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Matt Wieters ended the game 2-for-4 with a solo homer. Scherzer helped his own cause as he was 1-for-2 with a double and two runs scored.

Dean hits first career homer

Marlins rookie outfielder Austin Dean socked his first MLB home run in last night's loss. It was his only hit in four at-bats. Rafael Ortega went 2-for-4, while J.T. Riddle was 2-for-4 and scored a run. Dan Straily took the loss as he allowed five earned runs on nine hits with two strikeouts and no walks over six innings.

Wei-Yin Chen (4-9, 5.32 ERA) will start today for the Marlins, while the Nats turn to Jefry Rodriguez (1-1, 5.84).

MLB Betting Trends

The Marlins are 7-19 in their last 26 games. Miami is 23-54 in its last 77 road games.

The Nationals are 9-3 in its last 12 home games. Washington is 20-7 in its last 27 meetings.

Washington has been outstanding at home as of late and it should have no issues hitting Chen, who has been much better this season when pitching at Marlins Park. The Nationals are running out of time for a surge and with two wins in a row, there's no better time than now.
