St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Spin
Kolten Wong went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base during Thursday’s loss to the Reds. He roped a double to left that plated Marcell Ozuna in the ninth inning but the Cardinals’ rally fell short. The stolen base was the 16th of the season for Wong, moving him into a tie for 16th-place in the majors. Stolen bases are the category that provides the bulk of Wong’s limited fantasy value. He has a .272 batting average with eight home runs and 43 RBI in 425 plate appearances
Cincinnati Reds Fantasy Spin
Eugenio Suarez went 2-for-4 and drove in a run during Thursday’s 2-1 triumph over the Cardinals. He laced a single to center that plated Nick Senzel with the team’s second run in the fifth inning. That tally proved to be the game-winner. Suarez has seen his batting average dip a little bit this year but his power has improved accordingly. He has a .260/.343/.532 slash line with 33 home runs, 76 RBI and 66 runs scored this year in 120 games. He needs one more homer to match the career high he set last year.
MLB Betting Trends
St. Louis
The Cardinals are 5-1 in their last six games overall despite losing last night.
Cincinnati
The Reds are just 1-4 in their last five games despite winning last night.
Prediction:
The Reds are a perfect 5-0 in Luis Castillo’s last five starts versus the Cardinals and are 5-2 in his last seven outings overall. Cincinnati has also won nine of its last 12 games at home and is 10-4 in its last 14 games when facing a right-handed starter. Meanwhile, the Cardinals have dropped six of their last eight road games and Adam Wainwright, who is scheduled to start tonight, has been horrendous on the road this season.
The Pick: Cincinnati Reds -137
