Arenado leaves with injury
Colorado third baseman Nolan Arenado left Friday night’s game a sore shoulder suffered while turning a double play, but he has said he hopes to play Saturday. He was 0-for-2 in the 5-4 win prior to leaving the game. Charlie Blackmon was 1-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and a run from the leadoff spot. D.J. LeMahieu was 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two runs and two RBIs. Carlos Gonzalez was 1-for-3 with a triple, a walk and a run. Ryan McMahon had the biggest hit of the game as he came off the bench to replace Arenado and ended up hitting a go-ahead 2-run homer in the seventh inning, his only hit in two at-bats. Chris Iannetta finished 2-for-4 with a triple. Jake McGee picked up the win as he allowed one hit over 1 2/3 innings of relief.
Muncy homers, has three hits
Max Muncy had a strong night at the dish Friday as he went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles and two RBIs. Justin Turner ended the night 2-for-3 with a double and two runs. Cody Bellinger finished 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Zac Rosscup took the loss as he allowed two earned runs on two hits with three strikeouts over an inning of work.
Walker Buehler (4-4, 3.65 ERA) draws the start today for LA, while Colorado turns to Kyle Freeland (10-7, 3.04).
MLB Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Dodgers are 25-12 in their last 37 road games. Los Angeles is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings overall.
Colorado
The Rockies are 14-5 in their last 19 home games. The under is 6-2 in the last eight Colorado games on Saturdays.
Prediction:
First, check on the status of Arenado before you decide to make the bet. But even with him out, the Rockies can generate runs by virtue of playing in a hitter’s haven. Freeland has had a solid season despite where he pitches half his games and he should give Colarado a great shot today. I’m going with the underdogs as they are hungry for wins to move up in the NL Wild Card standings.
