Saladino wins it in 10th
A sacrifice fly by Tyler Saladino in the bottom of the 10th inning scored Lorenzo Cain Tuesday night to give the Brewers a 5-4 victory over the visiting Nationals. Cain helped pace the Milwaukee offense as he finished 4-for-5 with two runs and an RBI. Christian Yelich went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Travis Shaw finished 1-for-4 with a walk. Junior Guerra helped his own cause as he went 2-for-2 with two doubles and a run. Dan Jennings picked up the win in relief as he retired the only batter he faced.
Zimmerman has three-hit night
Washington first baseman Ryan Zimmerman completed the night 3-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI in the defeat. Adam Eaton finished 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk and three RBIs. Spencer Kieboom was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run. Matt Grace suffered the loss in relief as he gave up one earned run on two hits with one strikeout and one walk in two-thirds of an inning.
Tanner Roark (3-12, 4.87 ERA) will start today for the Nats, while Milwaukee counters with Freddy Peralta (4-1, 2.65).
MLB Betting Trends
Washington
The Nationals are 5-16 in their last 21 road games. The under is 12-3-1 in Roark’s last 16 road starts.
Milwaukee
The Brewers are 9-3 in their last 12 home games. Milwaukee is 3-8 in its last 11 games overall.
Prediction:
I feel like this moneyline could be even wider. Milwaukee has been fantastic at home this season and Washington is dreadful on the road. Roark has been shelled consistently after back-to-back consistent seasons as a starting pitcher. Peralta is young and raw, but has shown the ability to mow down talented lineups with his electric stuff and high strikeout rate. I am putting my money on Milwaukee to finish the sweep today.
