Conforto homers in win

Mets left fielder Michael Conforto finished 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs in Tuesday's 6-3 home victory over the Padres. Amed Rosario went 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs. Wilmer Flores was 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs. Devin Mesoraco was 1-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Brandon Nimmo finished 1-for-3 with a walk. Zack Wheeler picked up the win as he gave up two earned runs on four hits with three strikeouts and a walk over seven innings of work.

Myers drives in three

Padres left fielder Wil Myers was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs in the loss. Manuel Margot finished 2-for-4 with two runs. Eric Lauer suffered the loss as he surrendered six earned runs on six hits with five strikeouts and three walks over four innings.

Clayton Richard (7-9, 4.82 ERA) will start today for San Diego, while New York will turn to Corey Oswalt (0-2, 5.64).

MLB Betting Trends

San Diego

The under is 8-1 in the last nine Padres games on Wednesdays. The over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings.

New York

The Mets are 8-22 in their last 30 home games. New York is 3-9 in its last 12 Wednesday games.

It's hard to trust the Mets these days and Oswalt hasn't shown he can consistently get out MLB hitters yet. Richard can occasionally frustrate hitters and toss a very good game. With how much the Mets are struggling offensively, this contest could be a prime opportunity for a solid Richard outing. With how poor New York has been playing at home, I'm comfortable with a daytime bet on the Padres in this spot.
