From Rotoworld: Ross allowed nine runs — eight earned — over 3 1/3 innings in a loss to the Orioles on Tuesday. Astute observers knew Ross didn’t have his A-game early, tipped off by the pair of two-run homers allowed during a six-run first inning. Ross finished having allowed seven hits and three walks, striking out four, in total. The disastrous start came on the heels of a decent one to end the first half, and he’s been up and down in six starts overall. Some of that is the 30-year-old still working his way back from thoracic outlet syndrome, and that will likely continue for at least the rest of 2017. He’ll take a 7.22 ERA into Sunday’s contest at the Rays.
Odorizzi allowed one run and one hit over seven innings in defeating the A’s on Monday. The lone hit was Khris Davis’s solo homer in the fourth. Odorizzi struck out five and walked two in improving to 6-4 with a 4.37 ERA. His next start will come Sunday versus the Rangers.
