Pirates’ Kingham notches a quality start in win over Reds
Nick Kingham limited the Reds to two runs over 6 1/3 innings in a win Saturday. Kingham gave up four hits and two walks while striking out three, with only a Curt Casali two-run homer in the seventh inning marring his line. Kingham has now won three straight starts — all quality starts — to improve to 5-4 with a 4.11 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 10 starts overall. The 26-year-old will look to make it four in a row Thursday, and he’ll have a good shot to do so — and represents a good streaming option for those so inclined — when the Mets come to town.
Reds’ Harvey earns victory over Cardinals
Matt Harvey held the Cardinals to one run over five innings in a victory Friday. Harvey has gone six straight starts without allowing a homer and has a 2.65 ERA over the stretch. It still seems like something of a fluke, particularly since he’s struck out a modest 25 in 34 innings during his streak. The stuff is definitely better than it was in New York, and he might be able to help a contender as a fifth starter. He’s not the Harvey of old, though.
MLB Betting Trends
