From Rotoworld: Wainwright held the Mets to three runs — two earned — over 5 2/3 innings Monday for his 11th victory. Wainwright gave up a go-ahead homer to Michael Conforto in the bottom of the fifth, but the Cardinals rallied for six runs in the top of the sixth and went on to win the game 6-3. Wainwright struck out three and walked two while also yielding six hits. He is 11-5 on the season with a lopsided 5.08 ERA and 1.49 WHIP.
Lester fired seven innings of one-run ball Monday in the Cubs’ 4-3 victory over the Braves. Lester had eight days to ruminate about that 10-run drubbing by the Pirates in the Cubs’ first-half finale and he returned with a vengeance on Monday night in Atlanta, yielding just three hits and one walk while striking out six. The veteran left-hander is now 6-6 on the season with a 4.07 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 116/38 K/BB ratio in 115 innings. Chicago has won four straight games coming out of the All-Star break.
