From Rotoworld: Manaea surrendered two runs on five hits over seven innings in Sunday’s win over the Indians. Lovely work by Manaea in this one. He struck out eight and walked three on the afternoon, with only a two-run single by Michael Brantley in the fourth inning preventing him from seven shutout frames. The 25-year-old southpaw will carry a sturdy 3.68 WHIP and 1.21 WHIP into a road showdown with the Mets when he next takes to the mound.
Wheeler surrendered four earned runs over 5 1/3 innings Monday as the Mets fell to the Cardinals. Wheeler walked four and gave up seven hits, including a two-run homer to Paul DeJong in the Cardinals’ six-run sixth inning. Wheeler is now 3-7 on the season with a putrid 4.98 ERA and 1.55 WHIP.
