Milwaukee Brewers Fantasy Spin
Eric Thames launched a solo homer in the Brewers’ win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday. Thames slugged a towering solo shot — his 14th long ball of the season — to right-center field off Diamondbacks starter Zack Greinke in the sixth inning. It was his first round-tripper since July 2. He also drew a walk in this one. The 32-year-old first baseman has reclaimed an everyday role in Milwaukee, but his fantasy value remains limited to deeper fantasy formats. He’s hitting .265/.371/.522 with 40 runs scored, 39 RBI and a pair of stolen bases in 267 plate appearances this season.
Arizona Diamondbacks Fantasy Spin
Ketel Marte went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the Diamondbacks’ loss to the Brewers on Saturday. Marte was one of the lone bright spots for the Diamondbacks, who mustered only – hits combined in the losing effort. He singled and came around to score in the opening frame. He also smacked a one-out triple in the eighth inning, but was left stranded in scoring position. The 25-year-old shortstop isn’t running anymore, but he’s blossomed into an elite four-category fantasy slugger, who will be selected in the early rounds of all fantasy drafts next spring. He’s hitting .318/.368/.576 with 63 runs scored, 21 home runs, 60 RBI and four stolen bases in 418 plate appearances
