Latest on Velasquez from Rotoworld: Velasquez (elbow) will rejoin the Phillies’ rotation on Tuesday. He’s expected back next week with Tuesday looking like the most likely day to have him start. The 25-year-old hurler owns a troublesome 5.58 ERA across his first 10 starts this season.
Conley allowed seven earned runs over just 3 2/3 innings Monday as the Marlins fell to the Cardinals. Conley yielded three runs in the second inning and four in the fourth, with much of the damage coming from the bat of opposing pitcher Carlos Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI in the eventual 9-4 victory for St. Louis. Conley has a brutal 7.53 ERA in 28 2/3 innings this season. Miami may need to try something different.
