The Cubs acquired Quintana from the White Sox earlier this week. The price was two top prospects – Eloy Jimenez and Dylan Cease – as well as two other prospects in Matt Rose and Bryant Flete. Quintana owns a 4.49 ERA in 104 1/3 innings this season but was on a roll heading into the All-Star Break and has been sensational since June 1.

Jimenez walked four batters and gave up four hits, but the Orioles’ offense backed him with 11 runs on 15 hits in the afternoon victory at Target Field. The veteran right-hander finishes the first half with a 6.67 ERA.
