Muncy hits two more home runs
There isn't a hotter hitter in baseball than Los Angeles' Max Muncy, who homered twice in Tuesday night's 8-3 win and now has 20 long balls this season. Seventeen of the home runs have come in the last 46 days. Muncy finished the contest 3-for-4 with the two homers. Joc Pederson was 1-for-3 with a solo home run, while Justin Turner went 1-for-3 with a walk. Yasmani Grandal finished 2-for-3 with a home run plus a walk and two runs scored. Chris Taylor had a big night as he was 3-for-4 with a home run plus a double and a triple for two runs and two RBIs. Enrique Hernandez was 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk and two RBIs. Clayton Kershaw picked up the win as he allowed two earned runs on four hits with two strikeouts and no walks over six innings.
Freese has perfect night
David Freese ended the loss 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs, while Elias Diaz went 2-for-4 with a double and a pair of runs. No one else on Pittsburgh had a hit. Ivan Nova suffered the loss as he gave up seven earned runs on nine hits with three strikeouts and twp walks over five innings.
MLB Betting Trends
The Pirates are 4-9 in their last 13 games overall. The over is 10-3 in the last 13 Pittsburgh games on a Wednesday.
The over is 6-2 in the last eight Dodgers games overall. Los Angeles is 11-3 in its last 14 games vs. a team with a losing record.
The Pirates are in full struggle mode and I don't see Holmes ending that today. Hill hasn't been pitching well this season, although he keeps showing glimmers. With all the runs LA has been scoring, I'm going to bank on it not stopping here. Plus I would expect the Pirates to contribute some runs too. Take the over in this spot.
