Indians win second straight
The Indians picked up a second straight win on Monday with a 9-3 win over the Royals. They have won the two by a combined score of 24-6. The Indians are 46-37 overall and 19-24 on the road. The Tribe are putting up 5.04 runs per game this season while allowing 4.17 per contest.
Shane Bieber is getting the start for the Royals this evening. He has started just four games this season and has a 3-0 record with a 2.22 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP. Bieber has pitched 24.1 innings this year and has 27 strikeouts with four walks.
Royals fall again
The Royals have lost four straight in the 9-3 loss on Monday. KC continues to struggle at the plate. Kansas City is now 25-59 overall and 11-30 at home. KC is averaging just 3.46 runs per game this season while allowing 5.42 per contest.
Danny Duffy is getting the start for the Royals this evening. He has started 17 games this season and has a 4-7 record with a 4.94 ERA and a 1.49 WHIP. Duffy has pitched a total of 94.2 innings this season and has 83 strikeouts with 46 walks.
MLB Betting Trends
Cleveland
The Indians have won all four of Bieber’s starts this year and they are 41-18 in their last 59 games against a left-handed starter.
Kansas City
The Royals are 11-40 in their last 51 games against a right-handed starter, but they have won six of Duffy’s last seven Tuesday starts.
Prediction:
Duffy has had three of his last four starts be pretty promising, allowing one run over those three strong starts. But he did give up seven runs in the other start to the Astros. Given how poor Kansas City has been at the plate, I don’t see the Royals having much success against Bieber. However, I think Duffy can pitch well and keep the game close, so I won’t take the run line in this one.
The Pick: Cleveland Indians -235
