Diamondbacks' Ray set to return from oblique injury on Wednesday
Robbie Ray (oblique) will rejoin the Diamondbacks' rotation on Wednesday versus the Marlins. Ray had been slated for one more rehab start Monday, but the D'Backs have decided to scratch that and bring him back to the big club in a couple days instead. The left-hander struck out nine while yielding three runs -- one earned -- over 4 1/3 innings in his second rehab start on June 19. He threw 66 pitches in that outing and thus is not ready for a full workload yet, but fantasy owners should go ahead and start him Wednesday if possible in an enticing matchup
Marlins' Chen hammered at Coors Field in last start
Wei-Yin Chen was tagged for seven earned runs, nine hits and a walk with three strikeouts over four innings at Colorado on Friday. Chen was getting ahead of hitters, throwing first-pitch strikes to 17 of the 22 batters he faced, but he was throwing it right over the dish for Colorado batters to hammer. His ERA ballooned from 5.91 to 6.70 as a result of the outing. He has just one victory across his past 10 starts dating back to April 28 when he beat the Rockies in his season debut.
MLB Betting Trends
The Diamondbacks are 5-1 in their last six road games and 5-1 in their last six games overall.
The Marlins have won 11 of Chen's last 14 starts when he pitches at home.
I really like the over tonight. For starters, Chen is capable of blowing up in any start and secondly, Ray will likely be on a pitch count before the Diamondbacks turn things over to their bullpen. The over is also 7-3 in Ray's last 10 starts, is 5-2 in his last seven road outings, and is 4-1 in Chen's last five starts overall.
The Pick: Diamondbacks/Marlins over 7.5
