Dozier grand slam propels Royals
A five-run ninth inning highlighted by a Hunter Dozier grand slam lifted Kansas City to an 8-6 victory Tuesday night at Cleveland. It was the only hit for Dozier in five at-bats. Whit Merrifield finished 2-for-5 with a double, a run and two RBIs. Martin Maldonado ended the contest 2-for-4 with a double and two runs. Kevin McCarthy picked up the win in relief as he struck out one in a perfect inning of work. Ian Kennedy allowed one hit and struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning to notch the save.
