Houston Astros Fantasy Spin
Yordan Alvarez continued his assault on American League pitching on Saturday, blasting a three-run homer in a loss to the Yankees. Alvarez tagged Jonathan Holder for the go-ahead three-run blast in the seventh inning, but that would wind up being the extent of the Astros’ offense in the ballgame. He also singled and walked in the contest, finishing the night 2-for-4. Alvarez is now slashing .326/.431/.791 with six homers and 14 RBI in his first 11 big league games. He’s just the fourth player in the modern era to hit six or more home runs in his first 11 games, joining Trevor Story, Carlos Delgado and Dino Restelli.
New York Yankees Fantasy Spin
Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-4 and drove in four runs on Saturday, leading the Yankees to a 7-5 victory over the visiting Astros. Stanton delivered a two-run single in the sixth inning to give the Yankees a 4-2 lead. Shockingly, those were his first two RBI of the season. He didn’t waste any time adding to that tally, providing valuable insurance with another two-run single in the seventh inning. He’s now hitting .280/.438/.320 through his first 32 plate appearances, but is still in search of his first home run.
MLB Betting Trends
Houston
The Astros are winless over their last seven games and are 0-6 in their last six road games.
New York
The Yankees are 20-7 in J.A. Happ’s last 27 starts and are 4-0 in his last four outings at home.
Prediction:
The under is 6-2 in Justin Verlander’s last eight road starts and is 11-3 in his last 14 outings overall. The under is also 4-0-1 in Happ’s last five starts and is 4-0 in his last four outings at home. With the Yankees at near full strength offensively, taking the under is risky but Verlander should be able to navigate their lineup and keep the scoring down.
Tuesday MLB Prediction: Astros/Yankees UNDER 9.5
