White Sox blow early lead
Chicago led 4-0 in the first inning Saturday night but could not hold on in a 6-5 loss at Texas. Tim Anderson paced the White Sox offense as he ended the contest 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs and four RBIs. Leury Garcia ended the game 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Yolmer Sanchez went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Ethan Marshall took the loss in relief as he allowed two earned runs on four hits with no strikeouts and one walk over one-third of an inning. Ivan Nova will start today for Chicago as he enters with a 3-5 record, 6.01 ERA and 1.58 WHIP with 52 strikeouts over 82 1/3 innings.
Mazara homers twice in win
Texas picked up a 6-5 victory Saturday night at home over Chicago as it rallied back from an early three-run defict. Nomar Mazara led the Rangers offense as he ended the contest 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three RBIs. Logan Forsythe went 2-for-3 with a double a walk, a run and an RBI. Shin-Soo Choo finished 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Lance Lynn picked up the win as he gave up five earned runs on six hits with six strikeouts and one walk over seven innings. Chris Martin notched the save as he gave up one hit and struck out one over one scoreless inning. MLB Betting Trends
The White Sox are 4-2 in their last road games. Chicago is 4-1 in its last five Nova road starts.
The Rangers are 2-5 in the last seven Sampson starts. Texas is 11-4 in the last 15 home games versus a team with a losing record.
Both starting pitchers have struggled much of the season, but Sampson has at least shown flashes of excellence. Nova is very hittable and the Rangers have been strong at home all season. I'm definitely siding with the hosts here.
